DBPL, Health and Safety (EHS) standards as implemented in the operations of The Coca-Cola Company across all countries worldwide. DBPL complies with all applicable regulations prescribed by the law of the land and focuses on Water Resource Management, Energy Management and Solid Waste Management towards mitigation of its environment impact.
DBPL emphasizes on using environment friendly and greener fuel in its trucks. In order to achieve this objective, DBPL had converted 22 % of Company Owned trucks to CNG and for its operations in cities where CNG dispensing units are available, has also decided to induct new trucks which are CNG compliant. The use of CNG is a forward move to lessen the emission of greenhouse gases that pose the risk of global warming.
DBPL emphasizes on 3-R policy (Reduce, Reuse/Recycle and Replenish) for Waste management. We have been working in partnership with our suppliers for optimizing the primary and secondary packaging to minimize the waste generation. Bulk packaging and re-usable packages are introduced wherever possible to further achieve waste minimization.
Almost all recyclable waste such as glass, paper, waste crown, etc., from manufacturing operations is recycled through authorized waste recycler.
DBPL has been trying to optimize the package through lower raw material inputs, reduced transport, less waste and lower CO₂ emissions. This is done by pursuing a very dedicated approach towards removing the excess from the existing packages while ensuring the new packages follow a stringent process at design stage itself. Light weighting of the plastic bottles & short-neck bottles have given very significant savings in material. We have been able to reduce approx. 25% of the material in glass bottles by moving to Ultra glass bottles without compromising on the consumer satisfaction.
A very astute sourcing strategy & living up to the standards of being the biggest supply chain organization. DBPL is constantly striving towards being not only the biggest but the most efficient supply chain right from getting raw material to delivering the finished goods to the market.
